Homemade Raspberry Lemonade 🍋
16th August 2018

Everyone loves lemonade, and we aren't just talking about Queen Bey's sixth solo album. 💁

Although no one really knows exactly when lemonade was invented, there are records of the Egyptians mixing lemon juice with sugar as far back as 500AD, in the makings of a beverage then called qatarmizat. Fast-forward to modern day, and lemonade is everywhere. We've seen movies and commercials using imagery of cute kids with lemonade stands throughout the decades, with huge brands such as HSBC and T-Mobile jumping on the bandwagon.

So I guess you could say, lemonade is pretty much the little black dress of the juice world; a timeless classic.

We wanted to be able to recreate the lovely and fresh taste that you find with premium lemonade brands such as Sanpellegrino or Belvoir, but without the additives, preservatives, or premium price tag.

So we've done just that. 😍

Watch the video below to see how we made ours, and why not have a go at making some yourself? It's super easy, absolutely delicious, and as they say...

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. 🍋

Ingredients:
    - 10 lemons
    - 200g raspberries
    - 220g caster sugar
    - 750ml boiling water
    - Ice, to serve

Equipment:
    - Two extra large jugs or containers
    - Sieve
    - Lemon juicer
    - Something to squash the raspberries; a hand-blender or fork would suffice.

1. Place 180g raspberries in a jug or large container, keeping the rest aside for garnish.

2. Cover with water, and crush raspberries with a fork or blend with a hand blender if you have one.

3. Juice 9 of the 10 lemons, and add the juice to the raspberries.

4. Add the sugar to the juice mixture and add the boiling water.

5. Stir thoroughly and wait until cool.

6. Sieve the contents of the jug or container into your second jug.

7. That's it! Pour your homemade raspberry lemonade over ice, garnishing with the raspberries set aside and thin slices of the spare lemon.

Serves 6.

Top tip: If you want a less strong taste, dilute the mixture with cold water after sieving and stir thoroughly before serving.
