Friends Thanksgiving Trifle
23rd November 2018

As Joey would say... How you doin? 😘

Here's a blast from the past for all you 90's lovers out there (yes, yes I know it did actually finish in 2004, but to me Friends is just the pinnacle of 90's TV!) 📺

So with the use of some unagi (and a little help from Bren Did) here is the infamous Thanksgiving Trifle just in time for, well, Thanksgiving (for those of us that celebrate; hello there across the pond!)🍗

So for all those Joey's out there that just don't share food, or in case your fridge has just broke and you just have to eat (or use) everything in it, give this trifle a go and let us know what you think! 🍨

Just remember, you'll always be our lobster and we will always get off the plane for you  ✈️

Lotsa Love,

Charlotte 💚

600g Madeira Cake (two standard size cakes)
454g Raspberry Jam (one jar)
800g Custard (two tins)
150g Raspberries
200-250g Cornflakes
300g Chocolate
3 Apples
1 bag of M&M's (Green ones only)
3 Bananas
600ml Double Cream

  • Cut the madeira cake into slices and lay half in a single layer on the bottom of the trifle dish.
  • Warm the jam to make it easily spreadable and cover the layer of madeira cake.
  • Next add half of the custard and spread to cover, then top with a handful of raspberries.
  • Cover the raspberries in the final layer of madeira cake.
  • Heat the chocolate over a bain marie (or in the microwave) until it has melted; add the cornflakes and stir in until they are all coated in the melted chocolate.
  • Place the chocolate/ cornflake mixture on top of the madeira cake.
  • Cut the apple into rectangular pieces and scatter on top of the chocolate/ cornflake mixture. Now add the green M&M's.
  • Top this off with the rest of the custard.
  • Chop the banana into discs and lay this on top of the custard.
  • Whip the double cream and cover the trifle with the mixture.
  • Finally, place the rest of the raspberries on top and enjoy!
