Vegetarian 5 Bean Chilli

Well as it is national vegetarian week, we thought we just had to celebrate with a tasty recipe! 😋


So here is a really yummy Vegetarian 5 Bean Chilli (it must be good, both Alice and Trinity went back for seconds!) 🌶️

Vegetarian 5 Bean Chilli


2 Salad Peppers, cubed

1 Onion, chopped

1 Carrot, cut into rounds

1 can of Cannellini Beans

1 can of Red Kidney Beans

1 can of Black Beans

1 can of Pinto beans

1 can of Green Lentils

2 tins of chopped Tomatoes

1 small tin of Sweetcorn

Smoked Paprika

Chilli Powder

4 cloves of garlic, minced

Oil of choice


  • In a saucepan, add the oil, peppers, onion and carrot. Cook over a medium-high heat until softened.
  • Add the beans and chopped tomatoes to the saucepan; stir and bring to a slow simmer.
  • Next add in the sweetcorn and 2-3 tbsp of smoked paprika and 2-3 tbsp of chilli powder. Stir once again, cover and leave for 5 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic stir to combine and give the mixture a taste. Add further smoked paprika and chilli powder according to your own taste.
  • Stir once more and leave to cook for around 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve with rice or an accompaniment of your choice.


Enough for 4-6 people
